Amazon Announces Drones That Can Talk to You
The patent merging conversational AI with Amazon's ambitious drone delivery program has cleared. Plan for drones that can ask people for help, and respond to conversation has recently emerged. Amazon hopes Alexa's communication capabilities will be useful in working with humans to keep the program safe, and effective. It's expected that the Alexa AI will be the primary guiding force to this drone intelligence as has been suggested by Amazon recently adding Alexa to several of it's devices including the Echo Show and Echo Look.
The patent also makes way for video capabilities, slated to allow for two-way live video communication with pedestrians and customers. Amazon files thousands of patents a year, all ranging in different levels of believe-ability. What makes this particular patent matter is because it announces the potential merger of Amazon's two key focus areas when it comes to technology today; commercial drones and voice.
